Invisalign Treatment Process
Invisalign has emerged as an efficient means of improving smiles marred by crooked or poorly spaced teeth. There is no reason to use those antiquated and ugly metal braces in your mouth when completely clear Invisalign aligners are available. Invisalign straightens and properly spaces wayward teeth in about a year's time or less. You can remove your Invisalign aligners with ease to brush, floss, eat and drink. In a nutshell, none of the negatives associated with traditional metal braces plague Invisalign aligners. Choose Invisalign and you will not have to worry about metal wires irritating your mouth. Furthermore, Invisalign is competitively priced, so you won't have to bust your budget to enjoy the benefits of this dental breakthrough.
The Invisalign Treatment Process Starts with a Consultation
If you have crooked teeth or teeth that are improperly spaced, meet with our dentist, Dr. Lance Ogata, to discuss Invisalign. A dentist trained and knowledgeable of the Invisalign treatment process will assess your mouth, determine if Invisalign or another solution is appropriate and ensure you make a truly informed decision. The dentist will take photos of your teeth including an x-ray, discuss whether you are a candidate for Invisalign and field any questions you have. This is your opportunity to have your concerns addressed, pick the dentist's brain and determine whether Invisalign is ideal for you.

Move forward with Invisalign following your consultation with the dentist and work will commence on your fully customized treatment plan. Impressions of the teeth will be taken to form the treatment plan custom tailored to the nuances of your mouth. The dentist forms a digital three-dimensional image of the teeth to use at each of the stages at which the teeth are straightened. However, the Invisalign treatment process does not move all of the teeth at the same time. The dentist straightens a few teeth at a time to achieve the best results.
The Placement of the Clear Braces
Translucent plastic aligners comprised of BPA-free plastic are provided. This type of braces does not spur irritation as metal braces do. Furthermore, there is no need to worry about the aligners cutting the interior of the cheeks as can occur when wearing metal braces. A completely unique set of Invisalign aligners are provided to the patient to wear each day. Patients are encouraged to wear their Invisalign aligners 20-22 hours each day for the optimal results in as little time as possible. Dentists recommend not going too long without the aligners in place as extended periods without application can delay teeth-straightening.
A New Aligner Set Every Few Weeks
The Invisalign straightening process will not work as intended unless the patient wears a new set of aligners each week in accordance with his or her unique treatment plan. The teeth will gradually straighten at each stage along the treatment process. Once 10-12 months pass, the patient will have a noticeably improved smile. The best results occur when the dentist zeroes in on specifically moving certain teeth. Patients will know what they should expect at each stage of the treatment process. There is the potential for unexpected adjustments that the dentist will communicate as necessary. In some cases, the dentist will add attachments, similar to diminutive ridges, that connect to the aligners to assist with teeth-straightening.
6-Week Checkups
The dentist will request that you return to the office every month and a half or so to be evaluated. The dentist will gauge how the Invisalign treatment is progressing. There is a chance alterations will have to be made yet most Invisalign treatment plans hold true as initially planned from the start. In certain cases, it is necessary to don a retainer at the treatment's end to ensure the teeth remain locked in position. Be sure to continue with your regular oral health care routine and meet with the dentist for a thorough cleaning twice per year.
There is a chance the final treatment tray will be used and one or several teeth still remain a bit out of position. This phenomenon is fairly normal. If it occurs, the dentist will take a brand-new set of impressions. New Invisalign trays will be created and applied. The process is the same as that described above. It typically takes a couple weeks for the new trays to arrive. However, the majority of Invisalign patients merely require one set of refinement trays. At most, three rounds are required. However, those who require three series of Invisalign trays are the exception to the norm.
Invisalign Works Surprisingly Quickly
It usually takes upwards of a year to two years or longer for traditional metal braces to straighten crooked teeth. Invisalign typically works faster than conventional braces. The Invisalign treatment process requires about a year's time to show results in adults and teens' mouths. If you are looking for the fastest way to straighten teeth, Invisalign is undoubtedly your best option.
Invisalign is a Comfortable and Easy Means of Bringing a Smile Back to Glory
Choose Invisalign as opposed to traditional metal braces or doing nothing at all, and you will be ecstatic with the results. Those who try Invisalign rave about their new smile following the treatment process. Just as important is the fact that Invisalign aligners are clear so no one will know you are using a dental device to bring out the best in your smile.
Indeed, once your teeth are straightened and properly spaced following Invisalign treatment, you will be able to open your mouth in social settings without hesitation. This is the freedom, confidence and aesthetic appeal you need to be your true self when around others. This entire process is completely painless. As long as you keep your Invisalign aligners in position at least 20 hours a day, it will not be long until you notice a meaningful difference in the appearance of your teeth.
